Maric Brothers Electrical Pty Ltd (ABN 85 159 882 014) (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us so we can quote for and carry out electrical work. That is typically:
- Your name
- Your phone number and email address
- The suburb or address where the work is required
- Details about the job you have asked us to quote on
- Any other information you include in an enquiry, email or phone call
We do not collect sensitive information (such as health or financial details) through this website, and we do not take payments through it.
How we collect it
The quote form on this site does not transmit your details to a server. When you submit it, your own email program opens with the details pre-filled, and nothing is sent until you press send. We receive your information at the point you email or phone us.
Our web host records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability. This site does not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking cookies.
Why we use it
- To prepare and provide quotes
- To contact you about your enquiry or a job in progress
- To carry out, invoice for and keep records of electrical work
- To meet our legal, safety, licensing and insurance obligations
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing without your consent.
Who we share it with
We only disclose personal information where it is necessary to do the work or where the law requires it. That may include:
- Builders, developers, other trades or site managers involved in your project
- Suppliers or subcontractors engaged for your job
- Our accountants, insurers or professional advisers
- Government or regulatory bodies where required by law, including electrical safety and licensing authorities
We do not disclose personal information to overseas recipients.
How we store and protect it
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Records are kept only as long as needed for the purpose collected, or as long as required by law (electrical work records and tax records must be kept for set minimum periods), after which they are securely destroyed or de-identified.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period. There is no fee to make a request, and we will tell you in advance if a cost applies to providing access.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
